There are various ways of paying postage to get the most cost effective and convenient solution, CCR are happy to advise on any aspect of postage methods and costs.

Pricing in Proportion
From 21st August 2006, Royal Mail have changed their pricing structure. There are now 3 formats that items being mailed fall into and 10 pricing brackets compared to the previous 16.

Letter: A5 or smaller, weigh less than 100g, be no thicker than 5mm
Large Letter: A4 or smaller, weigh less than 750g, be no thicker than 25mm
Packet: More than 353mm long or more than 250mm wide or more then 25mm thick or the weight exceeds 750g.

The Royal Mail estimate that 80% of mail will not be affected or will be cheaper to send. Please find more information at www.royalmail.com/pricinginproportion

Epro
Epro is the online docket tool. If you have an account with Royal Mail they will issue you with your own unique PPI number and a docket book. The docket book enables you to release your mailing without having to pay postage upfront, either to your mailing house or the Royal Mail. Epro is the online version of your paper docket book. Mailsort
Mailsort is a cost effective way to send large quantities of mail. If you are mailing over 4000 letters then you qualify for mailsort. The journey of a letter once it enters the postal system is more complicated than you would imagine, it has to go through many different processes before it lands at its intended destination.

By mailsorting your data prior to releasing your mailing we are able to gain significant discounts, through the Royal Mail, for your postage costs. As your mailing house, we would undertake part of the sortation that Royal Mail would normally do so they offer savings for doing that work.

Postage Paid Impression (PPI)
CCR’s PPI number is Southampton 577
